I have done at least 4 charity events each year for the past 10 years or so, but this one is different.

Each day in February I’m getting on board for SurFebruary and raising funds for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Your donations support services and programs for people with cancer. They drive innovation in research, improve care, and provide equal access to all our services for everyone.

I’m actually quite hopeless at Surfing & really struggle to paddle out, despite loving the idea of it & being at the beach 6 days a week to train on land & dip afterwards.

I figure that whilst I may feel like I’m fighting for my life to stay on the board paddling, at least I will have support from others to get me through on any kind of day. Well, cancer patients really are fighting for their lives & I want to make sure they have the support they need to get through. The funds raised from this great initiative will really help that become a reality.

Well, after being really lean on the fundraising until just a couple of days ago, I’ve been really pleasantly surprised with some late donations. Thank you so much for contributing to this cause guys. Given it’s so early in its lifecycle as a charity, raising awareness is almost as important as the fundraising itself, so if you can’t donate, please at least share with your friends on socials.

Great work supporting an even greater foundation.. I have experienced first hand the highs and lows of cancer and watching my partner fight for her life to sadly passing away in 2019. I’ve seen the littlest things have the greatest impact and really help lift people’s spirit so for what you are doing seem like a grain of sand in the beach it’s all those grains that come together to help the tides change.
